The UAE Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has announced a significant change in the process of lifting travel bans. The travel ban will now be automatically lifted once the associated case is resolved, eliminating the need for individuals to apply separately.

Previously, the procedure to remove a travel ban involved submitting clearance and supporting documents, a process that could take up to a day. However, under the new system, these requirements have been entirely scrapped. The MoJ will now process travel ban removals within minutes, thanks to the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy initiative. This initiative, launched earlier this year, aims to enhance the efficiency of federal government services by eliminating bureaucratic obstacles.

Judicial authorities in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai have also automated the cancellation of travel bans once any pending fines are settled, further streamlining the process.

This change is part of the UAE’s broader effort to improve government services, making it easier and faster for residents to resolve legal matters.
